Description
After five fifth places this season, Maxime Potty, the reigning Belgian champion, finally achieved his first victory of the season in the East Belgian Rally. The penultimate round of the championship remained particularly exciting until the final stage. At the start of the last loop of 4 stages, the difference between leader Maxime Potty and Cédric Cherain was only 0.9 seconds. In the end, the Citroën driver kept his cool to win by 7 seconds. This brings him back to within 1 point of Niels Reynvoet, the leader in the championship, while Cédric Cherain with 114 points also has every chance of a first Belgian title. It will be an extremely exciting final of the Belgian championship on 30 November and 1 December in the Spa Rally.
