For the better part of the last two decades, Formula 1 cars have all used variations on the "Raised Nose" concept, with vertical supports bridging the gap between the tip of the nose and the front wing. But go back to 1990 and this idea was a groundbreaking revolution, with Tyrrell leading the charge. But where did the idea come from? And how did it work? Jake Boxall-Legge takes a look at the birth of Tyrrell 019, it's innovative front end and how the car fared against the lower-nosed competition in the 1990 season.
